I have an Align TRex 550L Dominator Model with Beast X. My transmitter is Spektrum DX7 DSMX Telemetry. I have been using Real Flight Simulator to practice for a year or more but I am still not getting much better when I go out to fly. So I mostly fly my smaller helis since I don't want to crash my 550.
Align Shop recommended that I use the Next Simulator. I have installed this Next using RX2sim. So far much better simulation of flying conditions and the exact TRex 550 model is on the simulator. However, other than operation of the two sticks and controls none of the the other functions are defined for my Spektrum DX7 transmitter. (hold switch, flight mode switch for normal, stunt 1 and stunt 2). The transmitter has a memory card so I can save and import settings for my Align TRex 550. It would be great if there was some explanation of how to set up a Next Align 550 Model to match the setting in a Spektrum DX7 transmitter. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Are you using a fixed wing preset in your DX7? If not, consider using a fixed wing preset. Then the hold switch should already be assigned to a channel. Start the neXt simulator up, press esc and change to settings > input device tab. And select functions in the input device tab. Click assign in the autorotation line and follow the instructions.

Here is an example of programming a switch for autorotation:

In case you don’t use flight conditions/modes in reality, you dont need to configure them in the simulator either. Simply select the appropriate preset with the number keys 1, 2, 3 and 4. When you need them, simply program a switch in your transmitter to a free channel and assign them in the simulator.
