Hi, I haven't used neXt for a while. The last time I used it I was using RX2SIM in dongle mode (so I could move between various machines) with Spektrum Sat. I've now moved to TARANIS with FrSky RX. I successfully set up RX2SIM on two other sims in this mode (Operation Mode Purple - Game controller / Receiver mode SBUS).
I then came to setup with neXt and the licence info was missing (I may have changed or reset the machine in the past). So I entered the licence details as previously provided and it (correctly) detected that I had previously converted to a stand-alone dongle and told me to change the RX2SIM mode to "Red". Ah says I, stupid me - of course! So I change the mode and I try detect dongle and it won't. I can still set up the TX in neXt and fly correctly, but since the dongle isn't recognised, I'm left in Demo mode!
What do I need to do to fi this and get back to full operation?
I think a virus scanner is blocking communication between the simulator and the RX2SIM via the COM port. Or have you installed something else that blocks or uses COM ports?
You should either uninstall your virus scanner or add neXt to the exclusions list.

All the best, Klaus
Thanks, Klaus,
That could be problematic, as it's a work computer and I might not have access to the Antivirus. I have another machine (personal) I can try this on so I can check if that's the problem.
Hi Klaus, I've now confirmed that on the other machine the dongle is correctly recognised. So I'll check with my IT dept to see what can be done on the work machine. I like to do some swimming during lunchtime at work.
Hi Klaus, I went into the Windows 10 security settings and added an exclusion for the neXt exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\neXt\CGM-rc-Heli-Simulator.exe but there was no change in behaviour (even after a reboot). Am I doing the right thing?
for testing, we use standard installations of Windows 10 without external virus killers. Only the Windows security functions are active. However, this does not block communication between the simulator and the RX2SIM via a COM port.
I know there is a hardened Windows runtime, used by corporate computer system administrators, but I have no experience with this.
