Nornal Mode

I’m a new user to next, using it with my dx6e/ws1000 and 2016 15” MacBook Pro. My only experience with helicopters is a walkera master cp and an XK K110. I’m use to taking off in normal mode, zero pitch and zero RPM, is there any way to set up a Heli like this? Also, how do I assign the flight modes to a switch on the transmitter and is there a way to setup a throttle hold switch?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

all the included helicopters have a governor included. So, you simply define the rpm in the helicopter setup. Typically you use flight condition 1 because these are the beginner setups. Yes, you can assign the throttle channel of your transmitter to the throttle input of the simulator in Input Device > Functions, line Throttle. But this is not the recommended way of use. Please switch off the motor by using the Autorotation switch.

You can assign the autorotation (throttle hold) switch in the Settings > Input Device > Functions, line Autorotation. Simply assign the switch of your transmitter to an unused channel and then, when you see that it works in the input Monitor in the neXt, you can click onto Assign in the Autorotation line. Switch on your motor, click onto 'Slider or Stick' and then switch off your motor.

The workflow for assigning switches to the flight conditions is the same.

If you like to change the pitch curve, you can do this in the helicopter setup when you click onto the pitch curve button.

All the best,
Klaus

Hi
Why is it not recommended to have a normal mode?
I tried to assign the stick to Device>function>line throttle but it doesn't work
is it possible to diesable the governor?
thanks for your answer

Hi,

of course it works, but not recommended. This is not recommended, as you will need 5 proportional channels and have to pay attention to using the right input channels.

For the four control functions in the Settings > Input Device > Model tab, you must use the collective pitch channel.
And for the throttle function in Settings > Input Device > Functions you must use the throttle channel.

Because some users use a helicopter setup in the transmitter, they must turn off the other channel during configuration. Otherwise, the simulator always occupies the same channel for both functions.

Look at the input monitor. If you assign the control functions (Settings > Input device > Model), you should switch off the throttle channel and if you assign the throttle channel (Settings > Input device > Functions), switch off the collective pitch channel in the input monitor.

If you have assigned a gas channel, the governor is automatically deactivated.
