Hi everyone, this morning I bought next, I come from realflight 7.5 and I also tried AccuRc for a long time, but in the end I couldn't resist and I also bought Next.
I come to the questions
1) But is there a Governor mode?
2) is normal I had to raise the deadband to 15 because if I keep it by default, I think the flight on helicopters is inaccurate? I have an Orange usb wifi dongle and a Spektrum dx8 gen2 Radio
3) Can someone explain to me if the default pitch curves are already okay? I can't see the corresponding value in pitch degrees when I edit them, and to know it I just have to start the simulator and see it from the gadget. I see too many values and they generate me confusion.
Thank you

Hi Joseph,

you are welcome.

Governor: Typically you define the needed rpm in the helicopter setup. That's why you don't need a throttle channel in your transmitter. And you should not assign an input channel to the throttle function in Settings > Input Device > Functions.

If you need different rpms, you can use for this the flight conditions. You have 4 setup banks per model. All of them have a preset. You can copy one setup by using the import/export window. Simply select the setup you like to copy, select the whole string in the import/export window with ctrl+a, copy it to the clipboard with ctrl+c, change to the destination flight condition, delete there the setup string and press ctrl+v for pasting the setup string. Then press onto apply.

You can switch between different flight conditions (setups) by using the number keys 1, 2, 3 and 4 on your keyboard. Or you can assign an transmitter channel to the needed flight conditions in Settings > Input Device > Functions. This is described here: https://www.cgm-online.com/rc-flight-sim...next-usb_e.html

Orange USB WiFi: I don't have tested these orange USB adapter but I have tested others here: Comparison test: RX2SIM against other USB simulator adapters

The RX2SIM delivered far away the best signal quality. While using an RX2SIM, you can reduce the deadband to 0 or 1. 15 is too high... 5 or lower should be well.

Pitch curve: This depends to how you are flying in reality. When you don't use a pitch curve in reality, you should not define one in the simulator. All pitch curve presets are symmetrical. You can define the max pitch angle in the helicopter setups... must not be done in the pitch curve window. Most transmitters cannot show any pitch angles in their pitch curve window. That's the reason why the pitch curve window refers to 100% and not to pitch angles.

When you like to adjust the setup in the neXt, you set your real pitch angle in the helicopter setup 'Maximum Pitch'. Depending to the main rotor blades, you can adjust also 'Response Pitch' and 'Pitch Brake Dynamics'. If you like to increase the maximum pitch power, you do this by increasing the 'Power Pitch' values. Enable the 'Expert' mode.

All the best,
Klaus

Thanks Klaus for the reply

So I followed a guide on youtube to configure the banks and the radio, that of SimonRc, and in the end I have on the throttle curve 3 flight conditions n = 33% 1 = 66% 2 = 100% as suggested by SimonRc, I have a Dx8 gen 2 of Spektrum, so far all clear, while the pitch curves of the step on my radio, are linear on all three flight conditions (N- 1-2) and are 0%-25% -50% -75-100%, I hope you leave it so good.
the banks in the simulator with a 3-way switch on my radio I can change them without problems. .Other question but in the radio I was right to set the helicopter as a model and not the plane? maybe if I remember I read that I had to set the plane for some type of radio, but the spektrum is not mentioned.
Another thing that I didn't understand, but the flags in the boxes of input monitor next to the channels and in the buttons list, if they are enabled, enable all the channels of my radio? Those of the buttons are off, when there is the flag inside? Or on the contrary?

other thing you know where I can buy RX2SIM? on the internet no store is available.
I forgot to add that I on my radio Dx8 gen2 unlike the guide on youtube of SimonRc, I have the gyro Inactive, while SimonRc, shows that it has assigned him an Aux2 channel. Let me know if it is correct to have the gyro disabled in my radio

In summary, it seemed to me that the simulator uses its own internal governor and does not take into consideration the radio, its throttle and pitch curves and gyro value . The conditions of the 33-66-100 values of the throttle curves in the radio are used just to give banks to the simulator and that's it.ok?

In the end if I don't enable the throttle channel in the simulator, he excludes that channel and consequently also the pitch curves in my radio right?
Thanks Again
Joseph

Hi Joseph,

it's up to you if you prefer a fixed wing or helicopter preset in the transmitter. Typically it's easier to program extra functions while you are using an fixed wing preset. In your case, you used the throttle channel for switching flight conditions. That's o.k.

The gyro channel is not used in the neXt because these is always perfect. The neXt does not simulate wrong helicopter setups because this wouldn't help anybody. You can use your gyro channel for example for switching into throttle hold. You can configure that in Settings > Input Device > Functions in the line Autorotation.

The checkboxes are useful only when you like to switch off some proportional channels or button channels during the calibration. Normally you don't need them.

I have some RX2SIMs in stock. You can order one in my shop if needed.

When you use a pitch curve in your transmitter, these curve will modify your output to the neXt already. So, these curve will be used.

All the best,
Klaus

Hi Klaus, thanks for the reply, I used the channel throttle on my radio for flight condition in to simulator because from the SimonRc video on youtube, it seemed to understand that the flight conditions were related to the conditions of flight of my radio that are located right on the throttle channel, and illustrated to video beginning that the 3 conditions, (throttle curve) N-1-2 had to be set to 33% -66% -100% to activate the switch(in the simulator).but now reading to your answer I changed channel and I assigned the conditions of flights to a free channel on my radio. Now I do not know if before the flight conditions of the simulator took into account the values (33-66-100) of the radio.
Now I have the autorotation on the gas channel, and the flight conditions on a free channel of my radio, I attach screenshots. I was wondering but sometimes I hear a beep when I do the autorotation, what does it mean?

Last question why when I put a window open, whatever and I cover the simulator, that is I remove it from the first floor, the rotor is activated, even if it is in hold?
However, afterwards, I place the order on your site for the RX2SIM.If you can make a nice and safe package because it has to arrive in Italy.
Thanks|addpics|olw-3-5602.jpg|/addpics|

Hi Joseph,

that's the autorotation trainer. The tone informs the pilot about the actual flare strength. The rpm increases when you build up more energy as needed.

When the neXt window looses the focus, the control input from your transmitter will be also stopped and all channels go to center. Take a look at the sticks and move throttle to full negative, then click the focus onto an other window and take a look at the stick display in the neXt. The pitch stick goes to center. It goes back to full negative, when the neXt window gets back the focus.

If you like to change that, you can configure the autorotation channel in a different way. For example 0% idle up and +50% throttle hold.

All the best,
Klaus

Hi Klaus I fixed the throttle hold as you advised me and it works fine now. Last question, it is normal that I had to inhibit the throttle channel on the radio, even though I had the thorttle channel disabled in the simulator, otherwise there are always two sliders moving in the input control, in my case slider n.3 and n.6 both. now only the n.6 moves when i move the gas stick? it seems that the simulator is even more precise now, is it my impression?

thanks
Joseph

Hi Joseph,

the neXt listens not to a throttle channel. Only pitch gets configured during the standard calibration. And normally you should disable the throttle input by clicking onto the sign in the tab Settings > Input Device > Functions and there in the line Throttle.

All the best,
Klaus

However I am very happy with this simulator, both for the realism, and for how it was set, I tried them all, I was 4 months on AccuRc, in the end it was full of bugs, in the management of the software itself, I didn't do it more, only when I opened it took 20 sec to start and I often lost the settings. This Next really convinced me. It's a pity that I met him by chance through a Pilot, on the net he is little publicized, it seems to me ... but he deserves much more

Good Job Klaus!

Yes, AccuRC is not what they have announced. It's cooked by a programmer and he has diced free resources from several hobby programmers together. This leads to a very bad flight physics and an unbelievably bad loading speed also on super fast computers with SSD. A model change leads to a coffee break. Changing a landscape leads to a meal break and starting the program is really terrible.

Hi Klaus, what I don't like about AccuRc besides the problems we have already discussed, even the Radio management, deadband, settings that are lost about the radio, and then I give you a stupid example, they have a chat channel Discord where they do assistance, and I asked why I couldn't upload the mp3 files even though they have included this function in the program, but I never got an answer, I didn't give it importance because I consider it stupid, let's say that those who care that chat is a old Pilot, a person available, and prepared and kind, but the program does not deserve it. I used it for 4 months on Gtx 1070 and 16 GB of ram on an Intel i5, it often had freezes of tenths of seconds, despite having set all correctly.

I ask you the last question but a manual of your simulator where I find it?
Another thing you know how I can understand empirically if my dongle has Noise? I have no tools to verify it, before buying RX2SIM, lately everything is going well with my dongle orange for spektrum, but I want to be sure that it has little internal noise

Thanks Joseph

Here is no separate instruction manual available. The important descriptions are in included in the program. Place the mouse pointer over the item and when you'll see the info in the bottom area of the window.

Then we have a frequently asked questions page: https://www.cgm-online.com/rc-flight-sim...next-faq_e.html
And the transmitter setup page: https://www.cgm-online.com/rc-flight-sim...next-usb_e.html

How to find out the input signal quality? Go to Settings > Input Device and reduce the deadband to 1 or 0. Then close the menu and take a closer look at the sticks in the simulator. Your input signal is good, when the sticks are not jittering.

Of course, I can add a measure tool for getting a jitter value in one of the next updates. But then you have only a number and still don't know the reason. The reason could be your transmitter, your receiver and the USB adapter.

Hi Klaus

Sorry for too many questions, from your explanation if I have to look at those on the screen for the sticks, they do not oscillate, but I did not understand, if the oscillation must be understood with the stick still or in movement. I made a video and I noticed that when the simulator centers on the cam, and you go towards it with the heli it restarts, in practice it simulates as if you pull the model / heli rc.right on you? this video what I mean.in Accurc was different, but frankly it's just a question. Last thing it would be nice in a next update to change the values in the settings also with the cursors of the keyboard to be more precise immediately

Today I tried the trainer mode,(first time) inverted flight, which I was expecting all this from this simulator. For me it is the number 1. I am very happy

Work Great!!!
