Hello, every time I start up next it asks for me to re-enter my Licence number but shuts down too quickly. If I do get to try to re-enter, the number in the box will only highlight and not let me delete or replace. I installed the update and it worked fine for my first session and now it is doing it again. Please help, Thankyou.

A Harrison

Hello,

it sounds like the user rights of the preferences file are wrong. This can be caused by Windows updates.

What to do when neXt forgets own setups and license information:

Rename or delete the file 'C:\Users\ user name \Documents\neXt\prefs.ini'. This file contains all the user settings. If this doesn't help, rename or delete the complete neXt folder 'C:\Users\ user name \Documents\neXt'.

All the best,
Klaus

Hi
I take it this will delete all model and radio settings?
Do you then have to re- register to get a new license?
Thanks
John

Hi John,

yes, then all custom settings are gone. Simply activate the neXt license again. The license server remembers your computer and you do not have to purchase a new license.

Of course, you can rename the prefs.ini file. Then start the simulator, exit it and then you can open both files in a text editor and copy your settings from the old to the new file.

All the best,
Klaus

Hi Klaus
Thanks very much for the response i will give it a go, I'm just a bit worried that because i can't delete the license it will not allow me to use the same registration on my PC, i also have a copy on my laptop so have used the two registrations permitted.
