New User Question
Hello,
I'm liking the sim. A few questions. How do I assign my flight mode switch for Flight Mode Normal, 1 and 2? I assume each bank offers a default RPM, pitch curve, throttle curve, gyro rates and expo per model, correct?
Also, how do I assign my preferred switch (which is already activated in my transmitter) to activate engine on/off for auto rotation?
Thank You,
Nick

Hi Nick,
here's how to assign a motor on/off switch:
https://www.cgm-online.com/rc-flight-sim...next-usb_e.html
(Section 'Program a switch for autorotation. Example: Futaba T14SG')
Flight conditions can be defined in the same way as the autorotation switch in Settings > Input Device > Functions. Usually you don't need flight conditions to fly a helicopter. The presets in the simulator are for different pilot styles (beginner, intermediate, expert and factory pilot).
All the best,
Klaus
Hi Klaus,
I'm an experienced pilot and sim user. I've been wanting to purchase your software for sometime now. I'd like to assign Flight Condition 1, 2 & 3 to my 3 position flight mode switch. For example. I'd like Flight Condition 1 to be Soft, 2 to be Medium and 3 to be Hard. I'm not understanding how to accomplish this. Although I understand I am able change flight conditions and engine on/off with my keyboard, simply not interested in using the sim this way.
I can see that the Input Monitor recognizes my 3 position switch movement but after pressing assign, then to switch, it says button 2, but my switch doesn't reflect any change. I'm using the Ikarus Interface with a Futaba 9CHP. Also, the Input Monitor reflects movement as channel 6 but the 3 position switch is activated as channel 5 in my transmitter.
I'm also noticing the Input Monitor doesn't reflect movement for channels 7 or 8 which are activated through my Transmitter. Therefore, I'm not able to assign an additional switch or switches for autorotation, flaps, or etc.
I'm wondering if the use of the Ikarus Interface may be the problem here?
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
maybe the problem is caused by the Ikarus interface.
You should disable flickering channels and buttons in the input monitor before assigning functions. Otherwise the simulator will think you want to use the flickering input source.
You have assigned your flight mode switch to a proportional channel. Then set these switch to flight condition 2 and then assign flight condition 1 in Settings > Input Device > Functions. After that you can assign flight conditions 2 and 3.
It is possible that this Ikarus interface does not transfer all channels to the computer. I don't know because I don't have this adapter. I recommend to use the RX2SIM or Futaba WSC-1.
All the best,
Klaus
Hi Klaus,
The only flickering channels in the Input Monitor (which are minor and not constant) are my active channels 1,2,3,4 & 5. The only other active channel is channel 6 and does not flicker, but moves proportionally when I flip the switch from forward, to center to backward. Again, this is my flight mode switch. Do you mean I should disable channels 1,2,3,4 & 5, by unchecking both boxes for each channel prior to assigning the conditions for my flight mode switch?
I'm still not understanding your following instruction "You have assigned your flight mode switch to a proportional channel. Then set these switch to flight condition 2 and then assign flight condition 1 in Settings > Input Device > Functions. After that you can assign flight conditions 2 and 3." Can you please explain.... How to set my flight mode switch to flight condition 2? Do you mean flip my flight mode switch on my transmitter to center? Then, using the function menu, assign flight condition 1 with the switch position on my transmitter to flight condition 1, then flip the switch to center to assign flight condition 2 and so on for condition 3?
I've just ordered the RX2SIM, thanks. I should have it tomorrow.
Thanks and looking forward to NeXt sim training.. ;)

Hi Nick,
yes indeed. If you assign a switch to enable flight mode 1, the simulator will prompt you to turn that feature on. But it cannot work while this function is already switched on.
I already know a few USB adapters that deliver really bad quality. For this reason I measured some of them. Here is the result:
Comparison test: RX2SIM against other USB simulator adapters
Since doing this review, I recommend the RX2SIM. It's simply the very best adapter I've ever measured.
All the best,
Klaus
Hey guys having a problem with setting up my INTERLINK ELITE CONTROLLER( RealFlight)
in the airplane simulator, the throttle is at maximum and the action of the stick does not change anything? I am in mode 1 and I did the initialization of the sticks.
do you have any ideas?
best regards

Hi Sylvain,
have you assigned the idle up switch in Settings > Input Device > Functions, line Autorotation? Then you should switch on the motor. Or click onto Reset there.
Of have you assigned a throttle channel in Settings > Input Device > Functions, line Throttle? Then you should click there onto Reset. You don't need this.
I'm asking because I just tested this and everything is working as expected.
All the best,
Klaus
