Hey, I am trying to use Next with occulus rift DK2. OS win 7, i ve download and install next occulus version. I ve turned on the occulus rift mode in the camera tab. The diver for occulus are instaled.
On the starting screen, screen monitor : i only have Display 1 available. I have one port with Monitor one on it, the second has the occulus rift on it.
these build works only with the Oculus Runtime 0.8.0.0. So, simply remove all other runtimes and install these. Then you start the neXt and it will work automatically.
I know that there are problems with deinstallation of newer Oculus runtimes. So, it's best to use a clean install.
At the moment I'm working on using the latest Oculus libraries. So, the next update brings this in the regular version and the HTC Valve is then also supported.
Thanks Klaus, I JUST updated from 0.8 to the latest and sure enough, found that it didn't work... was just about to post about that lol. Incredible timing.

On a second note I found the heli to be very to see when it just got to only the edge of the field across from you (I'm running DK2) so I'm not sure what that is all about (other games such as Elite Dangerous etc are just fine in the DK2. I'll wait for the new version and see then.
that's a hardware problem. The DK2 has still a low image resolution. So, when the helicopter is 50m away, only a few pixels can be used to render it. The DK2 has only 441 dpi and final Oculus Rift has 540 dpi. In future we need for a perfect view 1500 dpi. At the moment, the neXt zooms in a bit while you are flying away, to get the helicopter bigger. The final release will have this adjustable. Then you can increase the zoom level.
The low image resolution is the reason why we display the menu still on the computer monitor.
