Dear Klaus,
when I download any scenery, the preview icon shows up but Next can't open it. It gives me the error

"couldn't read a file:// file"

I am running version 1.539 on Windows. Anything I can do?

PS the default sceneries MBG Mauchenmuehle and X3D Nightfly work well.

Gruss

Dear Riccardo,

that sounds curious. The first thing I suggest is, to take a look into the windows system program 'programs and functions'. Is there only one neXt installation listed? If not, then uninstall both and install only the latest neXt version.

Maybe it would be a good idea, when you take an closer look at the neXt folder which is located in the folder: your documents/neXt. Rename or delete this folder. Then neXt makes this folder again. Sometimes, the user rights got corrupt after OS updates. Then neXt cannot write into these folder.

All the best,
Klaus

Dear Klaus,
done!
Only one installation showed in 'program and fucnctions'
I canceled the whole neXt folder located in documents. Then neXt made it again. In my opinion it does read and write fine, since the flight recorder and snapshots both work.

Unfortunately the sceneries dowloaded into neXt/Asset Bundles/Scenery don't work :-(

What was your workflow?

The intended way is to start neXt, go to scenery tab, click there onto download sceneries.
Then the uninstalled sceneries are shown in the right area in the scenery tab.
And then click onto the needed sceneries and wait.

Of course I do the workflow exactly as you wrote.
When I click onto the needed scenery, neXt gives me an error.

Please see the picture below. I get the error if I click "AMA Muncie" or "X3D JR Canyons". The preinstalled two sceneries work both fine.

Hi,

then please delete these downloaded sceneries and download them again. This time, wait until they have downloaded completely before you do anything else.

All the best,
Klaus

Dear Klaus,
we found the problem. I run the sim on the company laptop. My user profile is syncronized with the company server. The folder document is virtually on another path. This caused some mess.
The IT guys made a new local user profile, and now Next finds all the sceneries.

Thank you very much for your support.
